Jaeryong Lee : To hide something … It is not natural. .Frank Scott: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?. Jaeryong Lee : We can see that existing pencil cutters are designed to hide sawdust by making the container with semi-transparent acryl or hiding it. The natural is beautiful. Naturalness … We see beauty in the natural. .Frank Scott: What are your future plans for this award winning design?. Jaeryong Lee : I'm not certain but I am going to work for design .Frank Scott: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?. Jaeryong Lee : In a 10 minute? but I feel difficult when I go through deeper .Frank Scott: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?. Jaeryong Lee : I do design, that I want. .Frank Scott: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?. Jaeryong Lee : I make it myself, I want to sell my product .Frank Scott: What made you design this particular type of work?. Jaeryong Lee : Since a blade is hided in the cork, one can cut pencil using the cork. .Frank Scott: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?. Jaeryong Lee : I would like to tell that was inspired by design something, but I could design within myself from my experience. .Frank Scott: Who is the target customer for his design?. Jaeryong Lee : All of people who want to put on one's desk, or a shelf, Not to hide a sharpener when cut a pencil over. .Frank Scott: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?. Jaeryong Lee : Pursuit value of pencil sharpener, I would have liked to design it When I am a buyer who want to open one's purse for my ACUOTR .Frank Scott: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?. Jaeryong Lee : Name follows product, I think. ACUTOR means a cutter in Latin language. .Frank Scott: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?. Jaeryong Lee : Rhinoceros and Keyshot but It is a real product. .Frank Scott: What is the most unique aspect of your design?. Jaeryong Lee : All of them, especially, a flask which contain sawdust, and using cork. .Frank Scott: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?. Jaeryong Lee : I worked with jungjoon Hwang, We are a team name of Temporetarrae .Frank Scott: What is the role of technology in this particular design?. Jaeryong Lee : Cut a pencil .Frank Scott: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?. Jaeryong Lee : All most of Stuff and nature. .Frank Scott: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?. Jaeryong Lee : How to cut clear and put down sawdust well. .Frank Scott: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?. Jaeryong Lee : Firstly, I like your prize and I want it. secondarily, I think, my ACUTOR is appropriate for A'design award. .Frank Scott: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?. Jaeryong Lee : Significance of appreciation of the beautiful and Function for good design. .Frank Scott: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?. Jaeryong Lee : I really want to see you, and go to Italy, I feel sorry, I can not go there but I am going to there surely though another way. .
